Sea Blessing & Hidden Secrets

May the sea move into you, softening your body and heart

May her rhythms become you, pulsing tenderly with your blood, purifying

May her timelessness wash over you as life unending

In this moment, may you invite her fully, merging loving presence with oceanic infinity

What inner secrets lie hidden deeply within our seas?

As I sit down to write, deep hues of turquoise and blues are returning to the North Pacific Ocean from a distance. The morning fog begins to slowly lift, revealing the ever lightening blue of our home sky. The rocky coast begins ever slowly to dry for the day from the night’s cool bathing from the moisture of the tide. The whole body relaxes. The sea comes in.

All knowledge, indigenous wisdom tradition and scientific inquiry, is the reflection of our human self-awareness. Within us is cosmological infinity, everything that ever has been and all emergent becoming. Yet knowledge itself exists in a container, a mere message in a bottle upon the ocean’s surface. From within it we tend to observe the world looking outward. We forget the source of the bottle, the ocean itself.

This is from where we begin as we go within ourselves.

Meditating upon the ocean, we merge with her. Through our great union with the sea, we begin to remember. The sea floods into us our oceanic memory of our planet. When we come into union with our oceans in a moment, we become witness to the consciousness of our planet. All memory, all experience collapses into us. Our awareness perceives our hologram of her totality, as she whispers the secrets of our galaxy, and on. The crashing of waves becomes our doorway into cosmic awareness. In this moment, knowledge becomes known like a sculptor releasing form from Earth’s timeless elements.

As all life on Earth rises from the ocean world, would not her inner depths in eternal presence hold the keys to our own future? As the ocean slowly reclaims her land in timeless rhythm, would our survival not depend upon our deepening conscious communion with her?

For life on Earth, the ocean may be our greatest psychic force, our most deeply numinous relationship. Her intelligence moves the intelligence of all life. When we distance ourselves from the ocean world, her secrets may seem intellectually elusive. But when we return, we remember.

As human inquiry and experience pushes toward the space surrounding our star and beyond, could such contemplation from our planet’s oceans ensure not just our survival, but that of all life on Earth? Eventually, we will extend home in our stars, but only if we have our home to extend.

To the sea, we return.
